Almost alone!

A walk yesterday evening down to Wigrams Turn at the junctions of the South Oxford and Grand Union Canals helped dinner go down.  Straight ahead leads to Braunston……….

Whereas a left turn under the bridge will take you to Warwick…….

This is the route we will take tomorrow on our way to Calcutt Boats.  The sun was starting to set by the time Waiouru was reached on it’s lonely mooring.

A boat moored behind us just as dusk fell and left as we were having breakfast this morning.  A second boat moored in the same spot for lunch before it also departed.  We were stating to think we might be anti-social when a third boat moored behind us.  This one is staying for the night!

The second boat to pass this morning was nb Marmite which had passed us on Friday going up the Napton flight of locks as we were about to descend.  This time we remembered to take a photo.

If we got their names right it was Martin & Debbie.  Please leave a comment if we got it wrong!

Much of the day was spent on small maintenance tasks.  The rest of the stern counter was rubbed down and the rust spots removed before receiving a coat of primer and black undercoat.  Now all it needs is three coats of black top coat.  However that won’t happen tomorrow as we plan to get some red diesel and see if Calcutt Boats can look at the Hurricane heater fuel system.
