More on the Rickmansworth Monkeys

From a blog reader

My Dear Tom

I am upset about your monkeys, you first saw a monkey hanging around in Thatcham, yes Tom every time you went round to Pinnocks to get your fuel you passed a monkey, he has been there for many years, but it took me several weeks to realise what he really was and what the monkeys you saw are.

They are without doubt Members of Parliament!!!!

Before moving away from the subject of Rickmansworth we must mention Chris Blake Butchers on the High Street.  Jan had been searching for a local butcher on the internet and read a glowing report from “Paul Daniels” about Chris Blake’s Victorian sausages.  I assumed Paul Daniels was a famous chef, only to be told he is a famous magician.  I’m not sure if a reference from a magician holds much weight.  However we purchased a dozen of their Victorian Sausages and they are delicious.

Five locks later and we were able to just squeeze into a mooring just beyond Moorhall Road Bridge.  Harefield Marina is opposite and we have a pub beside us. fortunately the latter has a large canal side beer garden so it should be a quiet night.
