The worms haven’t got us (Yet!)

I know; it’s been quite some time since I wrote anything on the blog.  But I do have this really good excuse.  Our internet connection was disconnected on 19 April along with the phone.  Actually the phone was connected via the internet!  No; it’s not that we failed to pay the monthly subscription.  It was part of our preparation for leaving Adelaide.  Anyway, we are now back in contact with the remainder of the world.

Jan and I have been furiously cleaning, sorting, packing and discarding.  The poor rubbish truck nearly choked on our overflowing wheelie bin.  I also took two trailer loads of furniture to the dump.  Our lives have been reduced to two suitcases.  Actually it was far more than two suitcases.  Our airline weight allocation was alright but we couldn’t fit everything into two suitcases.  The solution was to put all our clothing on a crash diet and repack them in vacuum bags.  That did the trick and is also a great way of getting the vacuum bags to the UK where our intention is to use them on the boat to store seasonal clothing.

What an exciting blurred photo taken with my mobile phone because the “real” camera is already packed.  Yes, there has been a change of mind and the lime green case is making a final trip.  Actually there is some spare room in the case.  We have now arrived in Karangi, NSW.  Tomorrow I’ll write more about events since we lost our connection.

Hi Dot & Derek

Funny how you miss the internet when you don't have it! We're looking forward to catching up.

Hi Tom and Jan,
Was wondering how things were going for you. Knew you'd be packing and moving and it's not a fun job at all. Glad it's over and you're ready to move on.

Hi Elly & Mick,

An exhausting time but we're now on the final pre-departure stage of our adventure.
