It took us almost five hours to come down the Hatton Flight. Every lock was against us and many of the offside gates would swing open after Waiouru entered or left the lock. Poor Jan was forever going back to re-close gates.

We’ve moored just before Budbrooke Junction and will likely be here a few days. In the afternoon I made a quick trip to the local Sainsbury’s for a few essentials.

I small branch wedged against the lock arm can be just wnough to hold it closed.
That would still requires us to cross to the far side of the double lock to both place and remove the branch?
