A lazy start to the day until we noticed local social media was reporting a COVID outbreak and the suburb would shortly be going into lockdown. By 11.30AM the local liquor store had sold all its stock and the two supermarkets were out of toilet paper. Our neighbours have two small children. We could hear the screaming, crying and tantrums. I've never heard adults carry on like that! After lunch I erected a sign on the front lawn "Toilet Paper $10 a Roll" :-)
Now to something more serious. Jan appears to be delighted with the progress of her gardens. A wet and cool start to spring as seen rapid growth. She is rather pleased her daffodils are starting to flower and the bluebells won't be far behind.
Daffodils
Bluebells
The Hibiscus along the back fence line have also flowered.
Next year they should be larger.
Jan is particularly pleased with her front cottage garden
Yesterday we bought two more fruit trees which have been planted in the front lawn.
Dwarf Avocado
A second Mulberry
I’m pleased Jan enjoys gardening otherwise I would have planted the entire area in concrete

Think Jan should be pleased looks very nice for the very Sandy soil you have to contend with.
I’m guessing those new plants in pots dug in the lawn will need irrigation?
Are the daffs early or about usual?.
Autumn seems the get forever earlier here tree turning now unheard of not too many years ago. Well into September before we saw too many autumn colours.
Cheers

Ade,
Front and rear gardens and lawns are watered with a solar powered automatic water reticulation system. The water comes from a bore well.
I don't know if the daffs are early or late as it's the first year Jan has attempted to grow them.
We miss the English snow :-)
Ah what a great system essentially watering for free!
Snow yes it does have something about it and particularly the snowdrops poking up through it.
Think I would miss our winter if I were on your shores.
Cheers

Ade,
It can be slightly boring having summer all year :-)
Wow, daffs and hibiscus in flower at the same time!

Congratulations to Jan the garden pics look lovely. Not easy I imagine with your hot temps and sandy soil.
Debby,
